The International Day of Peace, aka World Peace Day, occurs annually on September 21.
It is dedicated to peace, or specifically the absence of war, such as might be occasioned by a temporary ceasefire in a combat zone.
It is observed by many nations, political groups, military groups, and peoples. The first peace day was celebrated was 1981.
Beyond Skin in partnership with Unite Against Hate and Belfast Metropolitan College have developed the first ever YOUnite week as part of the Belfast East creative legacies programme.
YOUnite will feature a week activities using art, music and multimedia focused in East Belfast leading up to the International Day of Peace event 21st September at Belfast Metropolitan College, Castlereagh Campus.
Children are cordially invited to take part in the European Fabrika Festival, Belfast.
Especially for them, on Tuesday the 3rd and Thursday the 5th of August at 3.30 pm Festival's organizers prepared fairytales reading in four languages: Polish, English, Slovak and Irish.
