Magherafelt Music Programme.

6th - 11th August linking in with the Tafelta Festival Beyond Skin as part of the #ArtsDialogue have been running a programme with young people from the Mid Ulster Area
Facilitated by Greek composer Nikos Petsakos and London Based Grime/Rap producer RVPH.the group are putting together a performance for 2pm 11th August at the Bridewell.  All welcome

The project will fuse traditional, recycled and new technology linking with children at The Music Project Sri Lanka who will be sending recordings to integrate into the final production. The Music Project in Sri Lanka will bring together 200 children for UNITE festival 9 - 11 August.

The week programme will lead to a performance at the Tafelta Festival.
The programme is supported by Mid Ulster District Council Good Relations and Arts Council NI

The first ever #TafeltaFestival, the ancient name for Magherafelt, will take place in the town centre next month.

The 2-day music and entertainment event will take place in Magherafelt from 10-12 of August.

The event, which has been organised by the Council in partnership with Magherafelt Town Centre Forum and local hospitality businesses, will see a selection of free family friendly entertainment in the town accompanied by entertainment in hospitality businesses throughout the weekend.

Events taking place over the festival include: An Orchestra of Change Makers Project for young people aged 11-18 years at the Bridewell, face painting, balloon modelling, street art including chalk art and graffiti art and street entertainment.

Arts and crafts workshops will also take place at Bank of Ireland in the town.

Hospitality businesses taking part in the festival include: Mary's Bar, Dormans Bar, Slims Healthy Kitchen, The Coachman, The Terrace Hotel Magherafelt, Ground Espresso Bar Magherafelt, Bryson's Magherafelt, The Flax Inn, The Step Inn, MarketTavern Magherafelt and Meadowlane Shopping Centre.
