#FUTyoURES: Genesis

As part of the #FUTyoURES project  Colombian Peacebuilder, Musician, Childrens Welfare Activist & multi award winning Beauty Queen, Genesis Quintero Perez will be in Northern Ireland 12th - 27th March.

During her visit Genesis will meet with the schools involved with the project and work with the Beyond Skin team developing the programme. Genesis along with musicians Danielle Carragher, Alejandro Valderramma from the project & guests will performing at Ubuntu Festival, Imagine Festival, Red Cross event, Bryson House & Tides DARE launch and at other community events.

#FUTyoURES is a Schools Peace project developed by Beyond Skin & Escuelas de Paz  at developing a shared creative model for conflict transformation that meets the needs, interests and expectations of young people from societies emerging from conflict. At the heart of the project is the Arts affirming the synergy between People and the Natural Environment around them. Mirrored activities are delivered with schools in Colombia and Northern Ireland.

Genesis Andrea Quintero Pérez  - Born in the city of Arauca in the land of Joropo Genesis began her artistic career in children's events. She has represented her community in different contests where he seeks to highlight and rescue the llanera culture in all its splendor. Demonstrating skillfully the execution of the different instruments typical of the region of the eastern plains and of another part of the country as they are: the harp, the cuatro, the maracas, bandola, bass, bandolin, violin, flute, chorale, piano, guitar among others of percussion, in these moments is one of the new revelations as llanera music singer. It perfectly interprets the dance of the joropo and some national dances. Together with her family, she created the GENESIS STARS foundation, a school of artistic-musical preparation for girls who wish to follow their cultural steps. In her capacity as musical interpreter and representative of the culture of her department she won 16 crowns in folklore and beauty reigns in Colombia and Venezuela. Genesis is working with our partners Escuelas de Paz coordinating the FUTyoURES project in Arauca

Mild Ulster Council, Grow Wild Foundation, Education Authority, Mount Stewart (National Trust), Building Change Trust, Bryson House & TiDES (Peace IV) & Derry City and Strabane District Council.

ROBISON the street artist and community activist from Soacha, Colombia will also be accompaning Genesis to work with schools and various events. Robison visited Northern Ireland March last year as part of the #Youth4Peace summit
