Anna Musonda is former Miss Heritage Zambia, Miss Grand Zambia 2025 and a champion campaigning for human rights and ending violence against women and girls, supporting many schools and other charities throughout her humanitarian work in Zambia. Anna is also a qualified clinical and psychosocial practitioner.
In May 2025 for UNESCO Africa Week we invited Anna over to Northern Ireland accompanied by musician and human rights activist Smack Jay. This is a visual diary of her visit.

Anna visited Mossley Mill, where she was warmly welcomed by the Mayor and Elected Members of Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council, along with representatives from local and regional organisations working in youth empowerment, domestic violence prevention, and women’s leadership, including: Women’s Aid ABCLN, Police Service Northern Ireland, Community Relations Forum Monkstown Boxing Club END Project Local Community Organisations
During her time at Mossley Mill, Anna also viewed the powerful “Seeking Refuge” and “Liora’s Hope” exhibitions created by the Council in collaboration with Women’s Aid ABCLN and Edmund Rice College, Glengormley spotlighting the experiences of women impacted by violence and displacement.




Anna visited a shared education programme in partnership with Connecting Minds Project and Arts Council Northern Ireland

Miss Great Britain Belfast finalist, boxer and photographer Louise Gallagher invited Anna to meet some of the other Ms Belfast finalists
Louise is also involved with Glow NI - a charity in Belfast focusing on empowering women and girls with life skills to increase confidence and self-esteem.

The organisation CAN helps people with learning disabilities, Autism and mental health issues to be able to realise their potential in work, social and community activities – in every aspect of their lives.
Anna visited CAN's residential education centre and farm and met some of the members and director Janet Schofield.

One of Anna's last engagements of the tour was attending a cultural event in Belfast supported by the outgoing Mayor of Belfast Mickey Murray. The musician Smack Jay performed some songs and Anna also met members of Zambia Association Northern Ireland.

The Open is the largest international Golf tournament and Anna visited Portrush Golf Club to see preparations and of course get a photo.

Anna's visit touched the hearts of so many women and girls and everyone else she met. Both UTV and ITVx journalists echoed many comments by many that Anna is a remarkable woman, role model and ambassador for Zambia.
