As someone we think might have an interest in the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in Northern Ireland, we’d like to tell you about Young Hearts & Minds an event dedicated to helping young people to ride the rollercoaster of life, safely and happily.

Almost half of young people in Northern Ireland have experienced a mental health problem - 68% say they ‘always’ or ‘often feel’ stressed, according to recent research by The Prince’s Trust - Northern Ireland has the UK’s highest suicide rate.

We believe a better understanding of the issues relating to the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people can help us tackle – and change – these worrying statistics.

Young Hearts & Minds brings leading experts from around the world and throughout Northern Ireland to address key issues such as; suicidal ideation, bullying, the pitfalls of social media, computer games, online threats, addiction, abuse, other adverse childhood experiences and traumatic events. We will be exploring what to look out for and what to do when you see the warning signs that something is not right. Beyond Skin will also be facilitating creative sensory workshops and music performances with special guests arriving to our shores from the international #ArtsDialogue collective.
