With restrictions on creative expression and gender apartheid by the regime, women and girls in Afghanistan have no rights and are being erased for society.
Belfast has become a safe harbour for art exported from Afghanistan, painted in secret by women and girls. Paintings are sold through Belfast locally and internationally supporting the women and their families. This exhibition features some of the exported art and some art by Afghan women in the diaspora.
