Recorded in Belfast 2005 and released 2nd January 2006, Beyond Skin's Motion Project "Music From A Diverse City" became known as Northern Ireland's earliest and most prominent intercultural music projects, and the first intercultural music album project produced in Belfast. The album was a collaboration of 42 musicians with roots representing 11 countries and featured anti-racism and protest songs and also reflected living in Belfast through the lens of people who where born there and migrated to Northern Ireland.
The project was inspired by 1 Giant Leap project. "Jamie Catto and Duncan Bridgeman travelled the world to produce the 1 Giant Leap audio/visual project. I though, I don't need to travel the world to find amazing musicians from different cultural backgrounds, they are on my doorstep in my city
The Motion Project developed into a touring programme of performances and educational workshops and further productions including the Journey of Equals documentary
