Defend the Defenders / Defienda los Defensores is a campaign formed of civil society and human rights organisations based in the UK to oppose and raise awareness of the murders of human rights defenders in Colombia. #defendthedefenders

#defendthedefenders purpose is to increase awareness about the systematic killing of social activists and human right defenders in Colombia. 4000 social leaders in Colombia must have the government's protection to carry out work With Their activities.

- 475 social leaders and human rights defenders have been killed in #Colombia since the sign of the Peace Accord to 26 Jan 2019
- 99 FARC – EP former combatants, and 22 of their relatives have been killed since Nov 2016 to 26 Jan 2019
- 187 members of Marcha Patriótica have been killed since 8 Sept to 4 Jan 2019
